Looking forward to hearing this new amp. Have there been any clips posted?

Here's a link to a BIG photo of the amp.

For those that haven't read about this yet, here are some specs from a thread posted earlier in the year.

Looks like a lot of fun in a smallish package. I believe it is coming out in September.

This is from their press release earlier in the year:

Each amplifier model in the line -- which includes the entry level VA850 (MSRP $435.00), VA851 ($500.00), and VA852 ($579.00) and high end VA881 ($865.00) and VA882 ($1010.00) -- features distinct channels powered by V-stack's proprietary modeling technology. Each channel has discrete gain and volume, and all route via a master tone section modeled on the vintage rarities that command six-figure price tags.

Is this not the same company that sells guitars from the "expensive" section of walmart?

I dunno, call me old fasioned, and I dont bash it (never touched the thing) but i'd be a little hesitant to buy it.

Well, they are the same company that builds the V-Stack pedals so many on here rave about. I'm going to give them a shot and go try one out as soon as I can.

I will post some clips in the next day or two as I have a proto of the VA881 here at my house. The Trainwreck channel just kills

I am anxiously awaiting these amps. I've been holding off the urge to get a Tech 21 TM 60 until I can demo one of the First Act units.

Wonder how much the "footswitch you can buy separately" will cost? I think they should just include that in the price because (like L6 stuff) you've gotta have the switcher.

Thanks for the link BTW!! I had missed that on HC

    uhh, it's gonna be a minute i think..i'm betting september,at the earliest.
i'm sure that when everything settles in,lance will provide excellent samples.
and, btw, first act is distributing 'em,not really designing 'em...the magnificent steve webster is. don't think k-mart,think absolutely the very best modelling you have ever heard.
i know lots of people honeymooned with the v-stack pedals and couldn't deal with the treble boost of the classic but it's actually an amplifier, not a pedal and should be treated as such..steve designed them to be d.i. boxes, not stomp boxes, but i use all 3 on every gig i do and have 2 of everything he makes. it's possible to use them as stompboxes with a slight paradigm shift..not for everyone,i'll admit;but i thank matte henderson for posting about it.
God bless lance too...geniuses like steve should really be left to their own devices(heh),with great players with high profiles making people get hip to 'em,i think.
    peace,

Hey, that video is pretty cool. There's a bit too much background crowd noise to say for sure but at first blush, all 4 channels sound pretty darn good, and authentic.

After reading the posts about this amp, I did a search on Google and found the video on Harmony Central. I thought it was pretty cool too.

The V-Stack changed my (amp) life. 2-3 yrs ago, whenever they came out and I got one, I was able to get sounds I was looking for in channel switchers. Then, just a clean/edge amp and the V-Stack and, Bam!! The Tweedy too!! I can't wait to get one of these amps when they come out.
