I too thought that was amazing. Seems like Alex had a hard time keeping up at times, was it just me?
He probably follows Ed in terms of time and that must be hard. I've always loved Alex's style because you can identify him after a bar or two. Now Wolf amazingly can hang with Papa!

Sounds great..................probably a huge part is not being a raging alcoholic any more??????

BTW, DLR is a true showman, his pipes ain't great, but he is the real deal in terms of frontman.

i got the sense that he (alex) was following ed, more than setting a strict tempo.

I'm a big DLR fan, but they do sound great as a trio.

What's kinda cool is that you can sort of karaoke along with it. And actually sing better than Dave. ;)

He's playing great right now; better than I've heard him in a long, long, time. Good for him!

That was absolutely fantastic. Ed is such a great player. He got a little "fast and loose" with the time in a few spots (maybe throwing Alex off a bit) but the guy is so good its a pleasure to listen to him play. His rhythm playing really propels the song. He's for sure on of the best geetar playing dudes ever.

OP thanks for posting that was great.

He's definitely not back to his 1985 level, hey he did some great stuff in the 90's as well. But it's going in the right direction. :aok

It is just more fun with Dave singing and things sound "right."

Having seen VH twice "back in the day", it is good to hear Ed sounding like Ed again. I even dug his tone. Sounds great.

Dave is sounding really good on this tour and the set list is the best in many years. I think I may get tickets for the San Diego show. I have not seen them since they reformed, but this looks like it will be the best tour since Dave came back. Eddie sounds like he is playing better the EVER in my opinion. It is great to see him sober, sane and healthy again.

You don't think he's back to his 1984 playing??? I think he's eclipsed it.

I personally don't think so. While he seems to do better by every show now (and I love that), it's not remotely on the same level as the 1984-Eddie.

I saw 1984 (and Fair Warning and Diver Down) Eddie and we'll agree to disagree.

If only Dave had his 07/08 tour voice they`d be unstoppable granted he does sound much better than the 12/13 tour or if Ed was playing at this level and tone in 07/08. Oh well with this band somethings aways a bit off having said that I loved the show in Concord Ca. on the 9th

Eddie is killing it! I just wish they would come out with another album though.
