Variation - Most hassle-free soundcard?

OK, you recording vets must be sick of the 'what soundcard should I buy' question that seems to pop up on any recording BB before the posts are cold on previous identical question, but . . .

independent of price-point and # of I/O's, can those of you with real world experience offer which ones work best for you; session-after-session?

(This would be for a fairly beefy PC running XP.)

I've had a ridiculously easy time with several of the M-Audio PCI cards. I haven't tried other brands for this reason.

Never had a problem with M-Audio Delta 10/10.

I have used Lynx Audio's cards for over 2 years now, much prefer the sound quality and just as easy to use. Killer driver support on the WIN XP platform.

I haven't had any problems with my Aardvark Q10 pro .......... other than the fact that they're out of business that is.

I have an M-Audio revolution 7.1 that works like a charm. Easy config and sounds great.
