Versatile mini distortion pedal?

Looking for recommendations for a versatile mini distortion pedal. I've got enough dirt already but just enough room left on my board for a smaller distortion that can go from Plexi-type tones to more compressed, liquid type lead tones (think 90s Collective Soul). Budget around $150 or so. Thanks!

One control anodized brown distortion is a really nice higher quality unit, that will definitely do those tones. Plus it can run on a battery.

The SL is also great, but much more vintage sounding than the anodized brown distortion. The OP mentioned the 90's. The SL has a Ritchie Blackmore setting. Blackmore is great, but not 90's, bro,~~

But, the OP's looking for "go from Plexi-type tones to more compressed, liquid type lead tones", which the SL does incredibly well, irrespective of decade, depending on how you set up the dip switches.

your guitar adjectives dont really match what youre describing. collective soul is mesa 100%. that wierd lower midrange fizziness. basically nickeback tones 10 yrs earlier.
id look at mesa in a box pedals, not marshall.

Agree...so, I chose to go with the adjectives instead of the band and decade reference.

Thanks for the recommendations all. I'll check some of these out. Versatility is definitely key, so if I can find Marshall & Mesa inspired tones in a single enclosure I'll be set.

The SL definitely goes far beyond plexi levels of drive once you get the drive knob past like noon.
