    Hi,

I very much enjoy trying new styles. This is a new one for me and I'm not entirely happy with my phrasing or timing here. Soundwise I didn't have what is common so I had to make do with another guitar. Sound is OK.

While recording this one my respect for the players who actually can play this style increased tenfold.

    Here is the tune:
    Hat Is Too Big

    Here is the BT:
Hat Is Too Big Backing Track

I would really enjoy hearing some takes on this one.

    Cheers,

    Mats N

THanks Mats, it sound OK and it IS very hard to solo over this, at least for me. I have made an attempt, clams and all can be heard on Soundclick , I named it "Hat is WAY to big" :D

Guitar was Chapin Hawk, amp is Custom By Cougar Thunderbird (volume below 9 o'clock and i moved T.C. again, it is now at 11 o'clock) Soundclick

    Hi Niels,

Yeah, I know what you mean. This style is really hard to get into as it has a load of tricks up it's sleeve. Unless you know how to "execute" the style there is very little chance of sounding authentic. I also posted this BT on a swedish forum and there has been some really good takes there from guys who are into this style big time.

I don't know why so many guitarists know this style as it is fun to play and really rewarding if you get the technique right. I realize I have a LOOOOONG way to go until I have started to scratch the surface but I'm game.

    Cheers,

    Mats N
