Victor Baker semihollow sound clip

    ...Just wanted to share with you guys my excitement about the new Victor Baker semihollow guitar I got a couple weeks ago.It's a 335 disign with solid spruce top/block and mahog back & sides - in terms of appointments I kept it simple - no fancy stuff - looks like this:

    The guitar is truly amazing - now I understand what some of the previous reviewers ment by saying his guitars are made "by a player for a player".

    Amazing playing and great tones :AOK. What sort of strings do you use?

    Victor Baker makes a fantastic guitar. I got to play a 7-string Baker jazzbox full hollowbody at the Port Townsend Jazz Camp last year. WOW! I was seriously impressed with the action, finish and tone.

    I have a friend in Nashville who owns a VB jazz guitar.All I can say,is that,if B built it,it becomes amazing as one picks it up to play it.

    The guitar came with 12's roundwounds,not sure which brand.The setup was so good it didn't feel stiff for a second,so I think I gonna keep 'em there.

    Exactly!It's a perfect combination for me :tonal complexity of an archtop plus sustain and versatility of a good 335.
    The sound of this guitar is very special though - as you noticed (well I hope you did:D!)-it doesn't sound "vintage" or anything like that - it's got its own very distinctive tone... which for me is a good thing as it helps me to develop my personal voice.If I only had one word to describe my feelings about this guitar I would use this one: INSPIRING !:dude
