...Just wanted to share with you guys my excitement about the new Victor Baker semihollow guitar I got a couple weeks ago. It's a 335 disign with solid spruce top/block and mahog back & sides - in terms of appointments I kept it simple - no fancy stuff - looks like this:

The guitar is truly amazing - now I understand what some of the previous reviewers ment by saying his guitars are made "by a player for a player".

Heres a clip I made quickly yesterday using Amplitube plugin (didn't have time to mess with the miking):

    speaks for itself huh?:D :D:D

Now imagine how it sounds with the real amp!!!:dude

Victor Baker makes a fantastic guitar. I got to play a 7-string Baker jazzbox full hollowbody at the Port Townsend Jazz Camp last year. WOW! I was seriously impressed with the action, finish and tone.

I have a friend in Nashville who owns a VB jazz guitar. All I can say,is that,if B built it,it becomes amazing as one picks it up to play it.

Thanks guys for the good words!:)
The guitar came with 12's roundwounds, not sure which brand. The setup was so good it didn't feel stiff for a second,so I think I gonna keep 'em there.

Exactly! It's a perfect combination for me :tonal complexity of an archtop plus sustain and versatility of a good 335.
The sound of this guitar is very special though - as you noticed (well I hope you did:D!)-it doesn't sound "vintage" or anything like that - it's got its own very distinctive tone... which for me is a good thing as it helps me to develop my personal voice. If I only had one word to describe my feelings about this guitar I would use this one: INSPIRING !:dude
