As promised. The guitar arrived today.

    First impressions: HOLY SMOKES!

Gerard Melancon is more than a guitar builder. He is an artist.

This guitar is light, has great tone, and the woods and craftsmanship are out of this world. I feel very lucky tonight.

If you do, buy it :)

I saw one a while ago, left to think about it, only to find out that someone else bought it...

Excellent review! A few years back, I played a Mel "S" made out of swampash that was amazing. It rang like a bell, was lightweight, and played beautifully. Of course, I went back to the store the next day, and it was sold.

I've been checking out his T style guitars, and hope to pick one up at some point. A very underrated builder imho!

Again, thanks for the great review.

I agree, very much underrated as a builder. I will say this: this is not going to be my last Mel...

There are many Melancon admirers on the forum, glad to know you are happy as well. I have a custom artist T that I love, but have been jonesing for a cajun gentlemen for a long time. You are right, Gerard is an artist!
