Hey guys, what are the big tonal and voicing difference with these two? I have the Boss and even modded it and it sounds great. I also did an extra cap mod that is supposed to get close to the filter of a vintage MXR flanger. What exactly is the filter? I am not an effect guru! :banana

    Thanks!

the Boss BF-2 uses the Panasonic MN BBD chips to where the vintage MXR uses the Reticon BBD chip. the older Boss BF-2s sound good. the old Panasonic chips are not only legendary but they sound phenominal.

but,the Vintage MXR with the Reticon BBD and the big blue Sprague cap etc sounds better imo.and more versatile.and tweakable.

I did the Pedalhackers mod.....So I wonder if I actually replaced the Panasonic chips(s)!

What does the filter do to tone?
