I stumbled upon this pretty cool video on Steven Stills and Manassas from 1972.

Pretty good quality recording. Check out the guitars and amps...the sound of Marshall, Fender, Gretch, Gibson and JBL.

Cool! That white falcon is great. After the 6/8 verse, what is that time signature in the first track?

More than a few ways to count that but I'm feeling groups of 8ths by these measure lengths:

    1st half of overall phrase - 7, 8, 7, 7
2nd half of overall phrase - 7, 8, 8 then goes to 6/8 for the next section

So you could think of 7/8 and 8/8 which is also 4/4. The 8/8 could also be felt as 3/8 and 5/8 based on the syncopations though that may be more complicated than it needs to be.

Does that really count as vintage?

I think that is a 59 LP Stills is playing. I remember reading about this on the LPF a while back. That would qualify for sure.

That was 1972. Even if the gear was new then, it's over 40 years old now. According to a lot of millenials, people over 40 are considered vintage. What are your criteria of qualification for "vintage?"

This is worthy of a repost with a different title, like: Still and Manassas using cool vintage gear!'.
Does anyone get a better Gretech tone than Steven Stills? Just awesome.
