OK let's see those vintage guitar ads.
I had an all black with black hardware version of that shredder model when I was in high school.
Ugh .. Kent
Gotta love that Hondo bass with the whammy bar
I framed these three Les Paul ads for my music room. The first two are from the '50s and the other is from the late '60s.
That kent model and the base model is expensive and was back then. They are not student models. They were the pro models.
I don't think I've EVER seen a photo of Jeff Lynne without sunglasses.
I know .. The old stuff is cool .. Innovative in its day .. Well-constructed .. Just .. Ugh ....
< shivers > ... My very first guitar was a Kent LP copy ... Circa '75 .. And it played like snot .. And sounded like angry green phlegm .. if I had to play that thing any longer than i did I would have quit .. Thankfully an Aria Pro II happened by and held me over until i scired my 78 Washburn Falcon .. Just the word "Kent" induces a shiver and bad memories
Remember when Frank said "We're only in it for the money". Well here ya go.
For some reason this ad always stuck in my mind. I remember it from Guitar Player when I was a kid.

Seeing this on the wall of the mom & pop guitar store where I took guitar lessons made me want a custom SO bad.
A Guild ad from the 70's. Not one that I had anything to do with. Those were around 79-81.
Goofy hair and ridiculous bell bottoms. Laughable today.
