Man, checking makes a guitar look better. I have a '62 MM that looks very similar to that.
Miss that one! Glad I know where it’s at still.
Picked these up on CL a couple of weeks ago along with a 72 Tele Thinline.....2 old Martins that have been played to death but still keep giving. The D18 (1962) is heavily modified and checked so much it’s a miracle the finish stays on there....the one below it is a 1953 D28 that’s seen some action but is in amazingly crack free original condition.

Great thread. Funny thing is, very seldom does one see a "relic" come even close to the real thing. And on TGP they say there is no such thing as "mojo."
