vintage tube experts,i have a question?

    is the jan phillips 12ax7wa the same as the jan sylvania 12ax7wa?thanks

    Take pics of the tubes and post them.
    It is a 50/50 chance they are. But even
    tubes of the SAME brand were made by
    different manufacturers depending on
    who was geared up to produce a certain
    type.

    Chances are they were made on the same tooling, but the Sylvania is older. Philips bought out Sylvania's Electonic Components Group around 1980.

    Same internal construction therefore obviously manufactured with the same equipment.

    As mentioned, Philips bought Sylvania's tube operations and contrinued producing the same designs on the same equipment under the Philips moniker.
