Is there any difference between these two methods in the way they would control line level?

I have a line out on my attenuator that's going to a loop in my effects processor and the signal is too hot.

    Thanks

This is not an answer to your question, but I've always wondered if the LS-2 could be retrofitted to accommodate a volume/expression pedal input.....

Well that isn't very punk, is it?
Aside from the obvious difference that you can use the volume pedal while standing up, the LS2 has a buffer which you may or may not want if you already have a high quality buffer, although I have no quarrels at all with the LS2's. I'm pretty sure both work with a potentiometer, though.

I used the boss mostly as an example of a a/b box with a level control. I figured they would both do pretty much the same thing but wasnt' sure.

    Thanks
