    Hey guys,

I love that AC30 tone, but I'm tired of lugging my Tophat King Royale and hayseed 30 around new york city. I'm looking for a 1x12 combo format with low wattage...5 - 15 watts. I know of the blackhearts are el84 powered, but aren't they a little more "american" voiced? Any suggestions out there?

    Thanks,
    Joe

Fender Pro Jr. runs 2 EL84s. It's Voxy.

I believe onemind (fellow nyc gearpager) is selling a Burris that might fit the bill wattage wise... don't know if it's light though.

Holy Crap! How did I not know about that amp! I originally stayed away from the ac15's because they traditionally don't have the top boost circuit. Thanks for the heads up on this!

get the ac15H1tv and swap the trannies for mercs!

I had the AC30 version of this amp on my bench (same amp 4 el84s instead of 2) and changed the choke and OT.

Man this thing came alive. It made a good amp great.

I have an older, small box TopHat Club Royale 1x12. It's the best tone possible in a smaller lighter package. If you happen to come accross one though... they're not going to be easy to find and they're not talked about much cause they're the older "less desirable" solid state rectified version. But this is my favorite version of the CR. It's both more Voxy and has more clean headroom than the current version (which the newer version has more of a Marshall 18 watt tone and less headroom).

    +1

The amps are great for low to medium sized venues.
You need more headroom - plug into low input.

    I love mine.
