I know what that bus being packed up tight is all about. Nice job laying it down.

That was cool. Been a long time since I did those with a band. Fun stuff.

    Thanks guys.

I was starting to think no one could get past the poor sound quality and the sour "Have Mercies" at the beginning...

    Nice one Scott !

I eventually got round to registering just to say how I enjoyed that.
I had been getting interested in early Z.Z.top stuff - and found you and your band's performance to be in the genuine spirit of the piece(s).

Just one technical question ( as a fellow S.G. owner ) - what strings did you have on yours to get that nice mix of rhythm and lead sounds ?

    Fine stuff indeed ... :AOK

    Feline,

    Wow, thanks.

The strings on that were just your standard D'Addario XL110's.

I do a lot of pedal dancing in these songs. Definitely more gain for the lead sounds compared to the rhythm and slightly more gain for the "turn around" thing (those really thick, arpeggiated chords) at the end of the verse compared to the riff in the middle of the verse. I usually go to the neck p'up for the solo in Bus, I don't remember if I did this time or not. I'm almost positive that I did the rhythm in the middle position. I almost always kick in a little clean boost (MXR MicroAmp) for solos, too.

I have the Boss RE-20 running for most of Jesus.

One thing that really seemed to help that SG (not that it really needed help before) was the Pigtail bridge.

Thanks for the performance info Scott. I have not gigged for a few years now, but that soundclip certainly put the appetite back into my practice session today.

Keep up the good work - and thanks again for the inspiration and insight ! :)
