Wampler Triple Wreck vs. Amptweaker Tight Metal? Best instant Mesa tones?

I need a pedal for fly dates to run in front of a clean amp. I'm hearing that the Wampler Triple Wreck and Amptweaker Tight Metal are the two best for Mesa Rect tones.

Who's owned both? One of them? Heard them in person?

I have the tight metal and had the triple wreck.
By farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the tight metal owns.

The Triple Wreck for me was a let down. To get the tone I wanted I had to almost max both the gain and output. This made the pedal noisy.
The boost feature also is unusable. It turns the tone into a maxed out fuzz.

The tight metal is not a recto in a pedal. Its not meant to be either. Its more of a Peavey 5150 -- 6505 tone to me. Its ultra tweakable though and with tight feature you can make itm CHUNK like any tube amp.

I bought the Triple Wreck based on Burgs' YouTube demo and did not regret it. The pedal is just awesome as far as I'm concerned. The boost is not what you would expect. It's not a simple volume or gain increase but more of a fattener.

I tried a Tight Metal. I liked it but not enough to buy it given I already had the Triple Wreck which I found to be more versatile while always delivering uncompromising tone. Don't get me wrong, the TM is great and I'm a big fan of Amptweaker stuff (I own a Tight Drive). In this case if I have to choose one, and I do, the TW is my choice.

I'm in the process of doing a massive demo shootout.
The Wampler and Amptweaker will be a big part of it.

Keep an eye on my sig. :)

I tried the triple wreck and it just did not gel with me. The mids knob was fun for bedroom playing but in a live situation the mids needed to be cranked which in order to get that Mesa Chug with the bass cranked up the mids just added flub.

Check out the new Überschall pedal from Bogner....it's an amazing sounding pedal if it's used with a solid clean foundation. Really nice REAL sounding and feel to it.

^^ Absolutely right....It depends a LOT on what amp you're going into. It works best with a high headroom CLEAN amp to avoid compression and farting out.

Here is the newest one I recorded of the Wampler into a '67 Showman.
