Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

    Hello All --

Looking to have a custom guitar built for myself. Essentially an SG body shape, extremely lightweight, with a thin "u" neck profile. Looking to keep the damage in the $2K to $3K range. I live in the L.A. area.

Anybody have suggestions of who I should contact? People who do great work without a two-year wait? Any suggestions, pics of guitars you've had made, links, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know his wait time, but this guy is right near L.A. and builds beautiful guitars, in fact he has several SG style guitars on his page. Check him out!!

Jason Lollar has a beautiful SG on his site. About 3gs, but I don't know about waiting time. Based on his reputation, I'd feel very confidant having him build a guitar.

Lowel Guitars did/does SG-shaped guitars & seem to be very reasonably priced. I believe there's a TGP'er or two who own 'em.

Scott Heatley might make an ess-gee. He certainly has before.
He makes a hell of a guitar, that's for sure.

Hello All -- Thanks for the many cool suggestions. Love to hear more.

Sent an e-mail to Heatley -- waiting to hear back.

Already own 2 ESP's -- which I love -- but I priced a custom order Viper and it was $3000 with case... and a full year's wait.

ive gotta say you will almost always wait the better part of a year for a custom guitar. Thats kind of a tall order for a custom builder and especially in your price range. I know some guys will speed it up but you gotta pay more.

It's confirmed -- Heatley is no longer doing custom work outside his own designs.

Still looking for the right guy if anyone has suggestions.
