i posted (hopefully) 2 pics of my recent guitar projects. there were bodies routed for floyds that i put a standard trem in and a wilkinson. it can be done, but i will say: it's not easy. holes need to be doweled, redrill for new trem, sometimes you have to file out a bit of the back area where the springs are. the SS washburn is a rare guitar, i'd just hold onto it and get a strat style w/ a standard trem. honestly, put some locking tuners on a strat, and a vintage-style trem will work great for divebombs etc.... my opinion of course

IF the problem is the floatingness of the Foyd, you could try a Tremol-no system.

Is a small device you install in the spring cavity of the guitar and lets you have the bridge:

- full floating

- only diving (no pulling)

- blocked

I just never use I as is and it's not worth anything to sell. It's pretty beat up an it's not the USA model. The guitar is pretty cool but nothin crazy. I guess it's not worth sinking money into

Set it up flush, put a screw in the body etc...if it's not that important a guitar. Maybe get a designer block for it...there's lot's of improvements out there for a floyd

well, i guess you could do the EVH thing, screw an old quarter under the bridge to make it rest flat?

yea, i had an old '85 kramer pacer (wish i sort of would have kept it),
but i couldn't keep the floyd on that thing in tune, and at the time i hated floating bridges, but now i have my 2 main guitars set to float and they use the standard trems w/ locking tuners and they work great.

good luck...
