What up, peeps? My boss Alex (runs GuitarTrump) asked me to share the thise with any guitarists that I know, so this goes for anyone interested:
Are you an advanced guitarist with a lot of free time on your hands? Do you like to write? I'm looking for someone who would be interested in partnering with me to help grow my website (http://www.guitartrump.com/) and turn it into a leading online magazine for guitarists. I'm talking Guitar World big. GuitarTrump got it's start in May of 2011 and we've since accumulated a Facebook/Twitter readership of over 3,200. Currently, we get about 200 pageviews per day, but with the addition of a partner (and more writers, if anyone else is interested) I'm making it a goal to more than triple that by the end of the year.
So, what's in it for you? Our writers regularly get to attend free concerts in exchange for reviews (most recently that included DeLuna Fest at Pensacola Beach, FL [ft. acts like Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and Zac Brown Band, etc] as well as Rockstar Energy Drink's UPROAR festival [ft. Staind, Shinedown, Godsmack, Adelita's Way, etc]). They get to interview cool bands and individuals (Rocky George of Fishbone, DeLuna Fest organizer Scott Mitchell, Evans Blue, The Expendables, Brian "Head" Welch [former KoRn guitarist] and we have an interview underway with KGB's lead guitarist Mike Bray). You will get to try and keep free gear (picks, strings, effects, electronics and more). We were recently sent four of T-Rex's newest pedals for review.
That is a large part of what I have in mind for a partner at the moment, but I am also looking for this person to commit to writing three articles specifically for guitarists every week. We have a 'guitar news' column, a 'tips' column and 'gear reviews'. All three columns have been largely neglected because of the bands and music festivals I've needed to work with and help promote. At this time, I cannot pay you for your work because, while we have made some money, we haven't yet established a real income with this site. As our site grows, so will our income.
