....kicked a whole bunch of ass. Go see them when they come to your town. That is all.
Any pics, gear info, etc???
No pics, he played a pair 335 style guitars the whole night (clear finish not the red ones) through the Diaz amp. He had his usual rack next to that with the Korg tuner and several other things in it (all controlled with the same switching system he's been using for a while).
Truthfully he played better than I've ever seen him and the band was fantastic. I've seen him too many times to count with Gov't Mule and the ABB and this band really showcased what he does best. moreso than any of the other acts he plays with.
Sad thing was there were a lot of empty seats, I don't know if they just aren't getting the word out about the tour or people are hesitant to see them because it's not ABB or the Mule. Either way it was a great show and I would have paid double the cost of the tickets I had (good floor seats too) and not have thought twice about it.
I think I'd rather see the new band than either the ABB or Mule... Been there, done that.
Saw them Friday. Great band, and Grace Potter sang backup with them.
Wait, why was Warren Haynes banned from KFC?!
Wow! I would have loved to see that show.
I thought the band was smokin too. I was a little disappointed George Porter Jr wasn't on bass but the guy playing with them on the tour is a very capable player too.
I've seen Warren a bunch of times. Always entertaining, ans most of all full of SOUL! Love anything he does.
Great in Memphis this past Saturday night too.
I saw them at Wanee - whatever you do, do NOT miss this. Superb band, and Warren is really in his prime with this combo
I saw them at Wanee as well. I really liked the groove - like an Stax band or something.
Here's a pic:
My buddy gave me his latest CD...
Killer horn section & a B3.
I love it!
I hope to catch him live.
I have a few questions...
1. How do you post this in the amp section with no amp info?
2. Grace Potter sang backup???? Did she take any verses? I'll go two states over to see them if she is singing backup.
3. Just this:
Not when they were doing the WHB thing...but some of the meanest tone I've heard from Warren. Warning....Firebird content.
Crap, he's at the High Sierra Music Festival near me, but we leave to Hawaii that morning...arghhhhhhh!
Oh well, I saw him about 3 months ago, great show.
What was the song selection? Was it mostly just the new album, or was there some from the first Warren Haynes cd or any Mule or Allmans thrown in? Any cool covers?
