What do you think about wax potted single coils? The noise prevention notion seems sound, but does it really work? Is it worth it? What sonic effect does/can it have on the pups ability to be a pup? What have you used that you liked? Why is the sky blue?

gotta be potted if you plan on using distortion, otherwise it will squeal like a streetwalker.

they don't cut down on noise that much, more just microphonics (which can lead to noise).

90% of the single coils any of us have ever played have already been wax-potted, so i think we're making a bigger deal of this than it really is.
