Brilliant album, Greenwich Mean. Long to be Loose is his masterpiece, though. "is something I don't understand yet" is an incredible tune.

It's so true:



The Grateful Dead's business model from the late '60's and on: give away the music (in their case, all of the live show tapes) for free and use the free music to drive concert and swag sales.

They were, in so many ways, ahead of the times.

Which is a bit funny because his amp before the Marshall combo was on old Fender Deluxe.
ya, I actually loved that "sing-y" tone much better than his current marshall setup. He used to dime all the knobs of that Deluxe if I remember correctly, and used that battered Strat of his (Saw him during the Greenwich mean era) occasionally kicking in that moogfooger for some more mayhem! Loved it :dude

It was a blackface Deluxe w/ no reverb from '64- that was his live amp from that era and what was on GM. I remember him saying he used a rented brown deluxe to record LTBL.
