WCR SR's vs Options

I have three Strats, Two that I play all the time (with WCR SR's) and one (V60 LP's) that doesn't make it into the rotation simply because the pickups can't hold a candle to the SR's.
First off I'm not here to bash V60's, they are just what I happened to try most recently and they obviously work for lots of people.
If you have played SR's through a great amp you may know where I'm coming from
Who has played SR's and found another single coil that is in the same league.
Balanced, defined, useable at all settings, articulate.
These features I feel are not subjective as tone would be. Even a more aggressive, hotter, more modern voiced pickup can retain the same features as above. It is a consistency and quality of design / build that seems to separate the great ones from the rest.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Iv'e heard the SR's...there nice. I like the Don Mare "Josie Wind" even better....Also, the Bare Knuckle's "Irish Tours" with the base plate on the bridge is really good. If you want a cleaner, more twang you migh like the Van Zantz "True Vintage". These are some of my favorites....These are all in the same league, or better!

Another vote for the Mare's...just sound right to me with just enough of everything but without too much of anything. Clear, thumpy, round, focused but with no mud or ice pick.

I also like the Van Zandt Vintage+...which my Mare's replaced.

Whats the difference?

The higher the DC resistance, the hotter the mids ...some like a hotter bridge pickup, some don't.

The "Josie/Vaughn" set was patterned after my old '64 Strat at N6.1, M6.2, & B6.3 K ohm which works for me.
