Weber Blue Dogs

Heh all. Cleaning out my gear area and (huh) came across a pair of boxed Weber Blue Dogs that I had no idea I had. By measurement they're 8 ohms and with a 12-a designation, believe they are AlNiCos.

What I don't know is their power rating. Any tell tale way to determine? They do have a number, 12970607, but can't seem to find any reference to it.

Thanks!

Howdy,

I'd contact Weber. Give all the avaiable info on your speaker. They should be able to help. BTW, I'm the very satisfied owner of an AlNiCo silver bell. Good luck!

They might be. Depends on the power rating. If so, will post in FS forum.

Waiting to hear back from Weber.

Normally there's a sticker that'll tell you the details. If that sticker's gone... Ask Weber.

Unmarked Blue Dogs are 30 watts.

For first couple of years, 30 watts was the only option. After the 15-watt was added (and later the 50-watt), those would be marked because they were "deviations"...but the "standard" 30-watters were left unmarked. AFAIK, they still may be.

Thanks, I suspect that might be the case.

Finally figured out where I got them - from a 2x12 bought with an AC30 "influenced" head. 60 watt total is about right.

The head is gone but the cab is now loaded with Scumbacks.

If they have a bell on the back, covering the mag, they are alnico.
