Very different from what I normally do, but some of you might find it interesting. I submitted this to a alternative composition site:

Love it. Good used of restraint. Like the mix & sound of the lead gtr in the background during the chorus.

Thanks for much for the feedback and compliment!

No too much stuff like this on this board... thought I'd mix things up a little! :D

Enjoyed it and really like the textural aspects of it.

It's a bit inspirational. I'm gonna mess around with my ring modulator when I get home tonight.

    Thanks!!

There were actually two inspirations for this.

One was the aforementioned submission to a posted project on another message board.

Second... David Torn. Seeing him post here prompted me to surface some of his works. His approach to music is free... just free. Of course my opinion and no one know David more than David. I just found his works inspirational.

    Thanks!

I used a Roland XV5050 synth module, but I sold it.

I plan to use Native Instruments Kontakt and Reaktor to create these type of compositions. Absyth is on my list to get, but between Kontakt and Reaktor, I have a lot of textures and sounds scapes to choose from.

For the main melody, I put my Einstein through the ring modulator of my PODxt.

The bass is my trusty Fender P-bass using a Sansamp Bass Drive DI.

Pretty cool, even though I'd like a little weedly weedly here and there.

I loved it too. That song had a lot of imagery in it for me. Even though I was listening, it felt like I was seeing it too. Cool stuff!

Thanks to all for the feedback... I'm so flattered that you all enjoyed my little experiment.

I need to finish my 'normal' CD, but I'll definitely post more of these detours along the way!

    Again, thanks!
