I just dropped in at the new Guitar Center in Times Sq. I was passing and it's not my up referred shop by far.... But they had one of the new HSS shawbucker Stratocasters in - Wow.
I had picked up various other guitars prior, models is not yet played like the new Gibsons, PRS SE etc. none of these I particularly liked (Gibson range has wider necks, I did not like at all) or were tempting.

The new HSS has a killer neck - the edge seems rolled and the frets are gorgeous- the thing feels like a $2000 guitar, not$1200 that was on the ticket.

If you are thinking of a Suhr or similar Stratocaster go play one you might save a few hundred $$$

    P.s. I love Suhr.

Well Done Fender - An affordable gorgeous guitar! #Fender

I swear if fender would beef up the modern c neck to a medium profile I would be gassing for alot of fender models of late. My wallet is safe though.

As a huge fan of big beefy necks, i am at the point where i dont even bother trying out new fenders anymore. Their necks are just way too slim for me and they all feel the exact same to me!

Funny, after complaining and just tolerating the Fender modern C's for some years, I'm starting to like them more. Tastes change I guess.

I have had two american standards I really tried to like. I currently have a 62hr and a 54 thin skin and I think I am done.
The modern c is fine up till the 10th or so fret, but becuase the taper stays thin I get more hand fatigue above the 10th compared to medium or large necks.

Wish they'd split the bucker in position 2 or put an s1 switch to split it.
