Jaws II is to Jaws, what Batman Returns is to Batman: not as good as the original, but still way better than the two that followed.

I feel your pain. My Wife and I did the same thing about a year ago. Each sequel was progressively worse. By the end it was pretty clear that as a franchise Jaws is pretty terrible. Once you lower yourself to the gimmick of 3-D you know you’ve given up on making a quality film.

One of the bigger movie misquotes of all time.

Oh you are right - there's no way a big ol' news station would use video from someone's iPhone.

Makes me wonder ... Is The Meg to be considered a continuation of the 'Jaws' franchise, or the possible beginning of a new one

In terms of declining quality from film to film, it picks up right where Jaws IV left off.

A friend keeps his boat in the water behind his house. Lightning struck the transformer next to his house. I blew the transformer off the pole, which landed on the hood of his truck, and fried the electronics on his boat. 50k in damage

Did you play the NES game based on this concept, where you had to jab with the boat to stick him at the very end?

    I did. :/
