Out of curiosity: Were any of you at the Al DiMeiola show on February 26th and the Six and I synagogue in DC?

If so, remember that guy who screamed "we still love you" when the drums fell off the stage? That was my buddy. He wound up cheering so loud he got funny looks from the bass player and keyboardist.

The percussionist got a little too enthusiastic at the end of one song.

    Me too!

I always wondered why Meola does that shoulder twitching thing when he gets in the Groove..

Not a clue, but probably the same general idea as Steve Vai's face. Anything that helps...

What a coincidence. It seems that Al Di Meola was playing in DC at the same time.

Technically you're correct. Al's dad, Chas, spelled his last name Dimeola. Al uses "Di Meola" professionally, but he never legally changed the spelling of his last name.

Yeah, that's not too far above his normal speaking voice. He basically has a megaphone instead of a throat.

The show was fantastic. You should totally go.
