Anyone here tried the WGS AlNiCo speaker? Thoughts?
I had one - in a great 1x12 cab. Loved it. Cab was smaller than the footprint of my head, and the wattage handling a bit low, otherwise I would STILL have it. Great speaker.
I love them, think they're fantastic.
When compared to a Celestion Blue, they have a higher resonant frequency (106.73 Hz over 75Hz) so you get a lower-mid bump which you may or may not find pleasing. They work incredibly well in Tweed Deluxe circuits.
I have one in my Fender BB112 cab to go with Bassbreaker 007 head. Very happy with it. I rotated the stock Celestion V-Type, a G12M Heritage, a Tone Tubby Chicago Blue, and the WGS Black & Blue through the cab and stuck with the Black & Blue. For me, the Black & Blue worked very nicely with the 007 head.
