What a shame it is when you get a beautiful guitar neck that has been gashed at the nut for installation. Does anyone make a filler for that? Perhaps something that will hold a normal nut and semi hide the sins?

I have used those with very good results. Before that, I made a small wood block to fill in the lock nut flat & recut for a new nut.

I've seen work by guys who did a very nice job of putting it back to normal.
But heck, as long as you're gonna do that, why not have a zero fret put right at the edge of the board, and a spacer nut behind that ?
