Looking for an open and airy Fenderish amp still in production that would give me this type of sound with the Strat:

I'm looking into 6l6 Fender inspired amps but this 100 watter would be overkill for me I think.

The clean, sweet sound is very important as I'm not looking for anything With more gain than the one in this video

Thanks!

Not in production, but BF/SF Bassman heads have a great "KRRRAAANNNGGG" tone happening (chuckle), especially when fitted with 6L6WGB's. I'd take one of those 10 to 1 over any modern production Fender. The BF/SF will be around 40 yrs from now, the modern production - well let's say I wouldn't put money on it.

Oh yeah - the BF/SF are much better value, too. You'd probably pay $500-650 for a BF Bassman head and maybe $400-550 for a good SF, but you'd make that back in a heartbeat on a resale. Odds suggest you'll receive a fraction of your original outlay back on a modern production Fender amp, whether you part with it in 6 months or 6 years. Just my .02...

GREAT tone-

Did he have a pedal engaged on the early leads? I don't remember if the Tone Master had a master volume but I don't remember them being able to distort that well.

Want the answer? Any of the 30 watt plus Matchless amps (C-30, Clubman, Chieftain, others)

I associate Kerrangg with Vox amps, that video sounds very Voxy.

Maybe stop looking in the Fender direction? An AC30 will gives you cleans and sweet breakup

I think Vox or Marshall too for that tone. Wouldn't have expected to hear it from a Fender. I associate Krang tone with ACDC and the opening riff in the Pretenders You and Me.

Filtertron, TV Jones, Starla or P90 pickups, and a Fender, Vox, Laney, etc. I never really got the sound with Strat's or Tele's. All mahogany guitars have the sound that I always heard, in my head. Even at low volume, these amps have it, and sound huge.

My new Germino Lead 55 has some serious classic krranggg on the bright channel when it's turned up some. Easiest amp to get that particular sound I've ever owned in all these years. It just does it. That's where it lives.
