    20-30 watts

A decent amount of clean head room

Even when pushed, doesn't distort too much

    Nice cleans

A few that come to mind are the Deluxe Reverb, AC-30

My tastes have been changing a lot recently. I've been listening to a lot of new bands that have indie/punk type thing going on. I'm actually starting to get away from Marshall type overdrive. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but I'm getting into some other stuff also

It's 35 W, but a Victorilux has plenty of headroom, is only mildly overdriven when cranked, and sounds incredible!!

Gibson GA-30RVS. Looks a bit goofy, but sounds incredible.

The Reeves Custom 30 is exactly what you describe.

Anybody? 2x12 or 1x12 combo would be good. Doesn't have to be boutique. Hayseed? Deluxe Reverb?

    Any others?

You had it right, the Deluxe is a great amp for that sound. I have one, but I must admit I haven't been too much into the punk/indie thing. With a simple tube swap you can really increase your clean headroom too.

Forgot something. Price tag new or used has to be about $1200 or less. Preferably less

I am here as you are here as you are me and we are
    Cage Corsa!

4xEL84, 1/2 power switch, channel link switch to jumper the channels, solid-state or 5AR4 rectifiers.

Cage amps have fantastic cleans, and the smoothest transition to distortion of any amp I've played.

$1375 brand new with Tuki cover:

There are a lot of tube amps that can fall under these requirements, if you do 1 little modification: change out the #1 tube from the 12ax7 that's there and replace it with a 12at7. You'll have more pre-amp headroom that way and it won't distort as quickly.

IMO, you're on the right track thinking Vox AC30!

You should be able to find a used Vox/Korg RI at the price point you want to be. Fantastic sounding amps (I love mine) lots of headroom, and they just look so damn cool and vibey! :dude

dang a TopHat Super Deluxe is a cool amp! Id have to say though riff, I dig the Club Royale best!

For not much more you can have a little more power in the SD...

PS. Any TopHat fits the requirments of this thread...
