'86. A lot of songs impacted me then. So I'll just focus on ones that were released about that time.
Actually, I remember this one in particular. But the 'impact' was a little later. Still....
One right off the bat:
"Adventures In A Yorkshire Landscape", from Be-Bop Deluxe's Live In The Air Age album.
Came out right before I turned 16. Listened to it night and day for months.
Anything by The Beatles or Beach Boys but this was right there.
Man I LOVED that song in 1985!!!
Creedance Clearwater revival greatest hits!
I have never heard it before.
Does not sound like a 'hit.'
The 3 biggest songs for me as a 15 year old;
For me, still the best music video ever made
Loved this guitar riff
Still love Huey and the News to this day
Yes it was Paul Hardcastle's one and only hit. It was big summer of 1985.
Man, that compilation is STILL huge in 2020. That music will never get old.
I suspect it got very little airtime in Canada.
Def Leopard "Let it Roll"
Iron Maiden "Wrath child"
Saga "On the loose"
Michael Schenker Group "Attack of the mad axeman"
Ozzy Osbourne "Flying high again"
Stayed at the country house of a NYC family. These albums by the record player made deep impressions. Changed my life.
When I found out it was much more fun being the weirdo in high school that I was in middle school
I'm thinking I'm in the minority...
Badlands "High Wire" (and that entire first album, to be honest)
Godflesh "Christbait Rising"
Cannibal Corpse "Hammer Smashed Face"
Still love Badlands and early GF. Cannibal Corpse, not so much.
