I'm compiling an "epic bass" playlist for me to practice, and I want a few Beatles track to add to the list.

My shortlist so far:

Come Together
Taxman
The Word
With a Little Help From My Friends
Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds
(Actually, all of SP is pretty rad)

Any specifics that I absolutely need to add?

The whole freaking catalog but here's a few that come immediately to mind:

I Want You (She's So Heavy)

Penny Lane (Paul doing the Carol Kay/Brian Wilson/Wrecking Crew thing even though he denies it)

Rain (plus some epic drumming from Ringo)

I Saw Her Standing There (lifted from Chuck Berry's "Talkin' About You" but brilliantly so. It makes the song kick ass)

As mentioned,
"I Saw Her Standing There"
has a kick ass bass line.

And, also as mentioned,
damn near every bass part that Paul ever played.

A few went before him
and many came after,
but for me and millions of others
he was THE most innovative pop/rock bass player in history.
Great guitar player too,
his guitar playing preceeded his bass playing,
so that was obviously a huge part of his bass style.
His influence on others is beyond reproach.
His bass playing was more like a lead guitar.

I heard that he wrote a couple good songs too.

All good suggestions above. In general, you'll probably hear the best bass lines on John's songs.
