I almost can't justify the ridiculous amount of money I spent for her. She is special though. I've never used straplocks in 30 years but I think I better get some for her. Any recommendations?

Never had a problem with any of the major brands, but I prefer the Ernie Balls.

I use the Dunlop Straploks since 1983 or so - an earlier experiment with the Schaller type (which seemed really awkward and prone to failure [which I discovered onstage]).

That being said, I've got a six string bass and five guitars using the Dunlop type (the circular type with the button in the center) and they've all had no problems at all despite the better part of two decades of live work.

Use old Schallers on both of mine, no problems. Never liked the Dunlop straplocks. If I knew what I did now, i'd probably just use the Grolsch washers.

Tuesday night 1/17/2012 at The Baked Potato in Los Angeles the same "system" was being used...

These can be bought in bags of 25 from any brewing supply house for about 4 bucks, and they seem to work well with no mods to the guitar. If you are planning on doing any serious acrobatic moves on stage, you might consider something more robust, but for normal use these are actuially pretty darn good. If you go this route, be sure that your guitar strap is not made of a nitro eating compound because the strap will be in direct contact with the guitar...I've had no issues with Moody or Italia straps.

I like simplicity (just not in my posts!).

I like those little plastic things that loaves of bread come with from the grocery store. It's the poor man's strap lock for those of us who don't drink, and you can find them in a variety of colors. :)

Been using Dunlop Straploks for 20+ years on at least 10 different straps from nylon to leather, never had a problem with one.
