What Markito said! Sorry Joe, no pyx, but mine is a 1960A JCM800 cab with 60's basketweave grillcloth snagged off Ebay, a quad of early '70s G12ms, no tolex...painted with a hallucinatory acrylic scene of my making...

    Cool!

I run my Constellation through a Germino 2x12 (old school version) with 2 G12H30s. I also ran my 60 through it, though I preferred the 60 through a straight Germino/Mojotone 4x12 with 2 GB's (top) and 2 G12H30's (bottom). That was just incredible. I miss my 60 sometimes, but I really love my Constellation!

I play my Komet 60 through a 4x12 Germino with G12H30s. I also have a THD 2x12 with Longhorn and Vintage speakers which loves the Komet 60 too.

My K60 goes thru a Germino (old-school) 2x12 with Scumback SA12H75-HP. After trying open and close back I liked open better for a more 3D swirly sound yet still punchy. I also have a Germino 4x12 which currently has the 55hz 12H's in it and at present I prefer the 2x12.

Next up will be Heritage G12Ms that I have waiting to go in... I'm thinking a mix with the 55s.

Enjoy your K60 - had a few hours with mine at my rehearsal space today with a LP, Tele and P90 SG. What a satisfying amp!

    Chris

PS Even tho' you only asked about speakers... I tried the parallel attenuator thing with my Dr Z airbrake and that works pretty nicely for cranked amp at smaller gig situations (I found I need to up the presence compared to full power) and for good ODs that play well with the Komet (retaining the kerrrannng factor and the touch sensitvity) I love the Pro Analog Power Driver, the Okko Diablo, the Lockhardt Tone Wizard. Landgraff works great for a different (more singing) voice too.

    Thanks!

I have an airbrake on the way to me now. I am not finding it too difficult to keep the amp tamed in the gradual setting but I am planning to drop a set of chinese KT66's in it tonight. I just love their tone. I have been palying around with different tubes and enjoy how this amp reacts and changes to the different style of tubes Killer.

Wait until you try EL37s in there. Zoiks!

    P90s --> K60 (EL37s) --> 4x12 G12m is a beautiful noise, man. PAFs are outstanding, too.

    that's where I started.

I like the bigger sound and sweet top of the sino 66s

I have some tungsol 5881s in it now and it is magic.

Hard to make this amp sound bad

I like GE 6L6s in there, too. ALOT. Hard to fault a set of XF2s, either...so many flavours. One of the greatest amps ever built.

While not a 60, my 6V6 prototype sounds killer through a Mojotone Bluesbreaker with Blues. A great cab for the $.

BTW, Joe does that T in the background look familiar? ;)

Good idea - KT66 sound great in the K60 and also drop the volume at breakup a bit - I had a pair of GTHPS in there for a while. Now have EL34 (Valvo labelled Mullard) and they are beautiful.

I have been running the 5881s at 30ma, some EH EL34s at 35ma, the KT77s were at 27ma and the KT66s that I dropped in last night I have tried at both 34ma and 50ma. The chinese KT66s like to see a higher bias current.
