Maybe not every song, but what band consistently has song lyrics that speak to you?
    That you really identify with?

    Just interested.

Normally I could give a rats about bands lyrics.
The lyrics I like are normally with individual artists, JJ Cale I suppose would be my all time favorite.
But with bands I like, far as I am concerned David Gilmour could have been singing the ingredients lists on all the food labels in his pantry and Floyd music would still have been just as good
I like lyrics in progressive rock bands that don't necesserily tell any kind of story or even mean anything, that mostly just paing temporary images that fit what music is playing at that given time well, The Moody Blues being my favorite, Yes being close to the MBs.
Mark Farner wrote some wonderful lyrics when he had Grand Funk Railroad going.
It seems there was so much focus on his beautiful voice and kickass guitar skills as well as his exciting stage presentation that his lyrics are seldom mentioned, but he wrote some very beautiful lyrics.

Steppenwolf had some great songwriters and some very relevant lyrics to their time period, the lyrics to Monster are poetry and every bit is relevant today as they were when written.
Steppenwolf also had some lyrics that were just fun kickass vehicles for the music.

So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in”

Rush, Television, Willie Nelson. Sabbath, at times. Chris Cornell was a freakin' genius. And I love how angular and tangential Steely Dan's lyrics are, it's like I have permission to invent my own meaning.

Pete Townshend and Ian Anderson both wrote lyrics I listened to back when I generally ignored lyrics, so they get my vote. Paul Simon has had some good ones as well.
