My vote would be Page's #1 and McCartney's Hofner. I believe McCartney's would fetch upwards of $5-7 million.
Page's i could see going for 4-5m. But who knows, 2 deep pockets is all it takes to push that number higher and higher haha

Red Special is the one that comes immediately to mind. Queen fandom spans a number of generations. Lots of good candidates listed, but I think this one has the most potential.

Agreed, the only one I can even think of is the doubleneck used on Hotel California.

I think this is the winner. A guitar that inspired multiple generations of both musicians and guitar builders.

I'll go with SRV's Number One and Brian May's Red Special.

    Gilmour's Black Strat
    Hendrix White Woodstock Strat
    Page's #1 Sunburst LP
    SRV's #1 Strat
    EVH's original Franenstrat

Those are the 5 I think that have the highest celebritization appeal

Nile Rodgers "The Hitmaker" Strat. Played on over $2 billion of music. The most recorded guitar of all time?? Maybe.

Also remember the proceeds of this auction went to his charity. That will inflate the prices greatly...that said Clapton's proceeds went to charity too so what do I know.

That auction was also 15 years ago. The rich getting richer isn't just a saying. It's literally been happening. The people bidding in those kind of auctions have more money than they did 10-20 years ago.
