ive been in the mood to get a delay for quite a will now, and seeing as i play a lot of radiohead i want to get a pedal capable of those tones!

can the dd7 do all that and a bag of chips? ive also looked at the deluxe memory boy, but lack of a looper is kind of a nag :S

    what are your thoughts tgp?

also self oscillation and wacky sounds are a must (hence the radiohead tones)

does the dd7 oscillate nicely on analog modes?

Well, Ed mainly uses a Boss DD-3/5 and a Line 6 DL4. Or that's what he was using for a long time. Add to that a Boss RV-5 for some juicy, wet tones.

    They have used
    Akai E1 Headrush
    Boss RV-3
I have been reading that the band is really into the Boss RE-20 as well

Check out a Flashback. Beats the heck outta the Boss dd-7. Very versatile.

Sadly no, just a phenomenal, versatile delay with tons of mod/tape style effects

How about an M9 by line 6? Great delays and verbs and a decent looper

    Or a Line 6 M9 and you'll every effect you'd need plus a looper

Radiohead never used one of those.

Jonny Greenwood's MAIN echo tones/sounds are courtesy of a Roland Space Echo.
I'll assume that's out of the question.
Lately though he has been using the RE-20.
It's strange you say you dont like that pedal but that is THE sound for Jonny's echo sound.
It's very very warm and natural sounding. It sounds much like my DM-2 except it's much more versatile.
As someone else mentioned, the Akai Headrush is also associated with Radiohead.
No one is certain but it has been indicated that he only uses that pedal in conjunction with the old radio he uses during The National Anthem.
Another delay he uses is the RV-3 reverb/delay.
    You can get one used.
Those are the three delays jonny has on his board.
As for ed, he has A LOT.
As someone mentioned, the DL4 is on his board, the dd3 or dd7........lets see, what else.
He's now using a Diamond Memory Lane and also uses the Memory Many W/Hazarai(an incredibly versatile and ridiculously underrated pedal).

Anyway, if it were me, i'd say the RE20 and the DL4 and/or Memory Man W/Hazarai are all you need.
    No need for boutique.
    These guys are plenty creative.
And that is the key ingredient.
    Good luck.

This was a long time ago, during OK Computer days, but I could have sworn that I saw somebody using a Korg Kaoss pad for effects, maybe delay, or maybe some other effects - don't remember exactly since this is now a long time ago.

+ 1 more for the Line 6 M9...Remember that the M9 allows you to place 3 effects in any order (like placing modulation and distortion AFTER your delay).

We play some Radiohead songs in my band too and the Deluxe Memory Man with Hazarai has looping and all kinds of great and wacky sounds. But my favorite is when I use that along with the Deluxe Memory Boy - with a POG in the effects loop and the feedback expression mode...whoaaaaa.

I'll add another +1000.....the RE-20 is my favorite tape delay out there...it doesn't have pre-sets....but I know all the settings inside out and I switch between settings pretty quickly...it's pretty user friendly....and the warm decay and oscillation of the notes is just great. I use it for everything...in fact I'm looking for a second for my mini jam board vs. my studio board.
