Given the 'excluded items' list encapsulates most the snobby stuff I'd rather buy, I'm curious how others use coupons on GC or the other retailers? Accesories?

Good lord - call guitar center or email them and they will apply the damned coupon to everything. You must literally be the last person on the internet not aware of this:red

    I usually don't.

I get the emails all the time, but usually ignore them. Like you said, there is so much that's excluded, it's not worth my time to go in there.

I've gotten them to apply the 15 and 20% off coupons to things on the excluded list... I have yet to weasel it into a used-gear purchase, but I'll keep trying.

Nothing. I'm pretty much finished with GC and MF. Most of my business these days goes to one or more of the following:

    Sweetwater
    Perfect Circuit Audio
    Elderly Instruments
    Willcutt Guitars
    Chicago Music Exchange
    Detroit Modular

You can negotiate that much anytime, or find a sale that's better.

15% barely covers tax. I typically don't waste my time if the coupon is under 20%

I've never met a GC coupon that I couldn't use on anything by calling them.

I've been kept from buying exclusions a couple times. Or they try to give me that much in strings

Pretty much excludes Bose, Apple and some EH. The rest is fair game.

6%, but then there's shipping. Meant to include that.

In store they have given me 15% on excluded items and have even given me 15% on multiple items when the coupon was good for only one item. Bought real gear (two notes toroedo and eventide H9). Has to be ordered; took a week.

I had a 20% off one that excluded Fender Artist strats that I used to get 20% off an Eric Johnson strat in 2013:red
