Anyone know the low down on these, I have the option to demo one or buy it out right for $250, a MK.II Lead 120.

Great medium/high gain amps. Tone seems pretty Marshall based. A little noisey, but the tone is there. Very under rated amps. $250 is a great deal.

    Guts look pretty cool too.

    Didn't Gibson rep them?

I have a Mk 120 head. Sounds sorta like a JCM-800 2203 with higher gain.

When the time comes to take the amp to a tech, have them rewire the sockets so you can use 12AX7s, if it hasn't already been converted.

All those components are Chinese...I re-tolexed one once, took me a whole day to remove the "dead cat" carpet covering it came with and sand down all the rough spots in the cabinet. Didn't make any money on that job.

Really don't know how they sound.

It uses a Russian version that isn't a 12AX7. It is an obsolete tube type that isn't available for purchase. It has a slightly different pin out, so the socket has to be rewired. Putting in 12AX7's will pop tubes.

Nice deal. Looks like they are a lot more available than they used to be. Good to know.

Also, thanks for letting me not have to track down that tube number.
