    Hi there.
I have recently added my beloved od-3 to my rig again after using a jek and hyde o/d, basically a tubescreamer,
    Im lovin it!
Does anyone else use one, and is so what are your thoughts?
Please... no "I hate boss overdrives" people.
    Thanx guys!

One of the most under rated pedals out there..I love that thing..I stack it with a Tube King and it's kinda cool!

We did a blind shoot-out a year ago with 10 OD pedals for blues. All were boutique, save for the OD-3. Out of 3 listers the OD-3 came in first twice and second once to the AC Booster. Go figure.

    hey Jeeeez,

why do you prefer OD-3 over J&H?

I use the J&H and B.Monkey but I haven't got to try the OD-3 yet

OD-3 is one of my favorite Boss overdrives. I own most of them.

It's a good od, but it boosts the low end, and is lacking in mids a little. Through a typical BF fender amp, it gets lost in a band mix.

The OD-3 is full sounding. No bass rolloff like a TS style OD. It's the sound I've been looking for. Just barks and spits the blues.

I was just going to ask if there are any mods for the OD-3!

    Thanks T-bone!

indyguitarist has one as well! Don't know who's is better, so don't ask me! Most of monteallums mods are top quality, though, so you can't go wrong with him

That & the BluesDriver are the best ODs that Boss has ever done. Not TS clones, just great tones for the huddled & yearning unwashed masses, of which I am one..

    NO problem!
It still sounds like a OD 3 but it's tighter sounding and more refined. I checked the pedal after each changed through my DAW and I could really hear the difference of each new mod.
I use it as a solo boost sometimes and it feeds back beautifully. That wasn't the case proir to the mods.

I used the Jekyll for about two months and suddenly noticed that it cut too much bass and lacked compression, I went back to my full bodies OD-3 and aint lookin back.
    Cheers mate.

Like mine...changed a few caps for some better quality, otherwise I left it alone...

Alot of guys back in the 80's used them. I think Lindsey Buckingham still uses one. I played one threw a gig once. It's a nice pedal.
