I want to make a new CD but would like to do most of it at home. However, I'm thinking about going into a real studio and recording the acoustic and vocals. Then I'll take those files into my studio and work on developing them from there with bass, lead, etc.

    Thoughts?

I usually do something kinda similiar but I record drums at a commercial studio then take them home to work on the rest of the parts. Make sure you pick a studio that is gonna groove with what you work on at home. Not that that is a big deal but if you use pro tools at home and have pro tools at the studio itll just make things easier.

mostly acoustic folk/rock songs. Not a lot of drums...some congas, etc.
