What do you think of this mix?

    I wanted to record something slow and grandiose - a good album closer. I tried to keep the mix open and a little spacy; it could probably use some organ, but I don't have one at my disposal right now. What do you think?

    Two suggestions...

    For me, the balance between the instruments is off. IMO the drums should be louder and the steel needs to be lower.

    IMO, the processing on the track is too wet. I'd pull way back on the verb and I think there's a slap-back echo on the drums that's not working for me.

    Cool tune though - plenty to work with.

    I don't know- We just put this through our studio Monitors and the levels seemed on point. I say leave 'em where they are. Spatialness is right where you want it.

    Thanks guys. I think the conversion to MP3 robbed the drums of a little bit of high-end punch. I'm also currently working with headphones and lousy speakers, so the frequency response on my end might be a little messed up.
