What kind of waveform is presented as one overdrives?
Hard knee? Soft? Square/smooth leading edge? Where are the peaks and valleys of the eq curve? Compared to a F*nd*r or M*rsh*ll?:D

There's probably more purple in the waveform. Or a bass player I work with would say he sees the tone as purple. I'll have what he's drinking.

Little known fact, Dumble actually worked AROUND the sonic waveform principles. A Dumble's "waveform" actually looks like this...

Also...John Mayer will now be buying up the Jackson Pollock collection in its entirety.

Very heavy set and likes to wear bandanas and sundry motorcycle gear.

Sometimes it looks like a spaced-out, but harmless uncle who got stuck in a 70's timewarp and has a penchant for muttonchops, plaid and polyester.

Occasionally it's portly with a beard and favors overalls.

It used to have a Prince Valiant haircut, but now it's bald.

It went through a phase in the 80's where it started wearing bolero hats, kimono's and a soul patch.

These days it has a big moustache, wears loud, colorful silkscreened shirts, and always wears a fedora. Mumbles a lot about spirituality and shoes.

Sometimes it's tall and lanky. If you can't find it, just follow the sound of screaming college girls.

A lot of man-crushes around these parts only see it as slim with longish hair and a gap-toothed smile.:D

Don't know how to describe it visually. Basically the twang of the Fender BF and the EQ of a Marshall (or even middier), simply put.

Last time I saw Carlton and Ford I would say Carlton's tone sounded like something in the toilet.
He would have sounded 100 times better thru a Bogner... or an Egnater Mod 100 etc.
    Terrible horrible tone.
I think players chase that "technique" more than that tone.........

Thought about putting one on the scope and posting pics but...

Supposedly the Skyliner tone stack is named because it resembles a city sky line when viewed in a scope.

Too bad this thread got silly. I must be a serious geek to have found the subject more intriguing then the funny pics.
