Richard will always threat you right! :)

P.S. You should ask him about his KT66 variation of the 1958. Whoa, mama! ;)

3rd Power Dual Citizen. Actually it takes EL34s, but that's close enough for government work. Doggone do I want one of these babies! :) Sadly, I have not been a good enough boy this year to expect one from the Hannukah Bunny or from Sandy Claws. :(

You'll never play a finer amp than a Komet Songwriter. EL84 heaven, especially when cranked up with NOS tubes and the tremolo going. :aok

The Songwriter is appropriately named I think. It's not so high gain or aggressive that complex chords sound ugly. I imagine that it would make a great complement to the Aero 33 in a two amp setup.

If you want something more aggressive with a biting tone, the Z-Wreck is an excellent choice.

So many amps, so little time!

I bought a used one that was okay, but overall was pretty lack luster. I a-B'd it to a Magic Amps Brit and Savage Rohr and both had more character, more dynamic response and overall sweeter tone than the Songwriter. I ran the Songwriter through a 1x12 gold. Did I miss something with that amp?

I think so, but we all like different stuff. I hope you were able to crank yours bc that's where the goods are at. Power station is key.

I had a z-wreck in stereo w it for a few months actually!

I wound up preferring a really good Liverpool clone with the songwriter more, so I sold the zwreck. But it's definitely an epic amp and a 4xel84 to have at the top of the list.

I'd love to figure out a way to get a Mesa Boogie V-35 under the proverbial tree but don't think I'm going to pull it off.
