I love the emi RW&B speakers but am looking for a great british inspired speaker for a closed back 2x12 cab.

I'm specifically looking to stay way Emi.

Anything in that line resembling the M and H Greenback?

Per a recent useful post in another thread... there's some argument about how accurate the comparisons are, but it is a starting point and how Emi apparently tried to design the lineup...

FWIW the Jacks, Fangs and Govs seem to be the popular ones, which would generally make sense being partial clones of the most acclaimed Celestions.

Thanks. i've tried the delta pro 12a and the commonwealth and they are not anything like JBL / EV respectively. Maybe Private Jack and a Wizard would be a good combo

yeah, those commonwealths aren't as well regarded in general (don't know about the Deltas...) but the C-clones all get better reviews.

The only 'redcoat' Emi I've tried (and own) are the Tonkerlite (Fane-copy-but-neo-mag).

deltas are EXTREMELY bright. They were designed as full-range woofers. Same with the commonwealth (design)

Why emi's? Why not use what Jimi used? Either buy vintage or,better yet,Buy Scumback 55's for the G12H30 TONE THAT Jimi used '68 -70.You'll end up there eventually,so I'd recommend you try the scummies first.

Bought a cab with Wizards in it. I'll report back when I get it and get a video or two done...
