I hear all kinds of guitars that "reduce" or "eliminate" the neck heel, but what is it? pictures please.

The heel is where the neck is joined to the body on a bolt-neck or set-neck guitar (since neck-through guitars have the same piece of wood for the neck and body, they don't usually have heels). For example, on strat, the block of whood that the neck is bolted to. Just look at the back of any guitar and there it is!
