ive looked at a couple of pedals so far that i like:

    Blackout effects musket
wren and cuff tall font russian

the only limitation i have is size and those two fit the bill.
Also ive looked up and researched what he used and he uses a big muff pi live but has never sounded this good live so whatever they did in the studio was great

could be same pedal as live, but something done in the studio made the difference. . .maybe a different amp, or engineering. .

Sounds to me like the fuzz is direct to board. Either that or a small or full range speaker with a piezo.
It just sounds way too fresh and crisp for a typical cone.

Is it even a fuzz? Occasionally it reminds me more of a filter or some sort. But tjmicsak cold be correct that it's straight into the board or via some hifi, fullrange speaker. Fresh, crisp and no apparent midhump... just very dry and hifi-ish.

Sounds like an overdriven board to me, too.

    Demo Tape Fuzz.

This is about as un-gearpage as it gets, but I love playing fuzz into a clean solid state amp, bass amps are usually best. It gets that really crisp buzzy fuzz sound. You can get similar sounds into a clean, low volume tube amp too. Muff, fuzz factory, peppermint, etc. all get way buzzier into a super clean amp, which is not unlike recording straight into the board.

BTW, I meant that you should check out the Mid-Fi Electronics Demo Tape Fuzz pedal.

It really just sounds like a fuzz with a lot of modern tweak-ability farting out. Not complicated nor really aurally interesting to me. To Each Their Own

Sounds a litte too "octave-y" and "raspy" to be a Muff...

To me, sounds like a Fuzz Factory into very clean amp.

I'd go with either the EQD Hoof or the BA Scarab Deluxe. I think that you could dial in either one to approximate that tone...
