what guitar would these Grover "Imperial" tuners go on?

    I've got them on my 335, as well as my large archtop. They're grand-- I love having a huge key to hold on to.

    They're on a lot of groovy high-end archtops. I think they look cool on Falcons and the like as well as fancy carved-top jazz boxes.

    I know a guy who has them on his Les Paul Custom, looks surprisingly good

    High end Vintage Epiphones, like the Emperor and Regent used those. Maybe some of the '60's high end Guild archtops, like the X-500 or Artist Award use 'em too.

    Art Decco.
    Hollow body Guild, D'Angelico, Gretsch, etc.
    Those guitars have Decco F-holes.
    Not really fitting on any Gibson, IMO.
    The traditional F-holes are more Classic, and small tuners are a better match.
    Also wouldn't look right on 'student' models, only deluxe models.
    IMO YMMV IMHO In General, etc...
